Backyard Before and After (part 1)

This is by no means finished.  This is the current "after."  Next year I plan to have even more "after"to share.  My head constantly works on garden plans.  My hands and my budget strain to keep up!

I thought it time to share my palette, and when I'm frustrated with lack of progress, time to remind myself from whence we came.  Here is my backyard before the thoughts of Hostas, Heucheras or Hollyhocks ever entered my mind.
