Saying Goodbye to April

Wow.  What a difference a week makes!  So many clusters and patches are poking through bringing back memories of lush color plans.  I'm delighted to see each and every spot transform.  My memory banks are starting to open and the names of flowers and foliage are returning.  That part can go dormant over the winter too (especially when I don't blog).
Alas, things need to be moved or spread to other places.  Let this serve as a reminder where they are, when they bloom, and what else I can fit in!!

Hello little buddies....So happy to see a little colony of my Solomons Seal

This Heuchera helps brighten the shade bed...if I could only remember your name

This is a little island I'm creating that started out as
Hosta
a need to cover the ugliness of the white clean-out pipe.  If one wasn't paying attention at night, it could also be a tripping hazard.  I planted gifted hostas from my neighbor, Lisa, across the street.  They where HUGE when we 'wagoned" them over in July.  They where weak all last year and did not fill the space well.  Now look, they are coming in full and strong.  I put the log there, wanting a pot of colorful annuals with some cascading....something.
Will need to widen the circle so the mower won't eat the edge of the hosta leaves!!

Bleeding Heart claiming it's space

My Black Lace Elderberry came onto the seen pumping a lot of plumage!  Let's see how close to its boastful 6 feet it will get this season!

I think, for now, this is my favorite scene.  The very next day, the bright pink Clematis (left side just out of photo) started to open.  If only these guys can keep their blooms long enough for the large Allium and Clematis to show up it will be Gasp-hand-over-your-heart-Stunning!

I had forgotten about this one completely!  I searched and searched for this Baptista last year, brought it home, put it in the ground then realized I bought the wrong one....

I can already smell the sweet scent on the breeze and it's just such a cheery looking mound! Golden Jubilee Agastache

I did not know this is what an Allium looked like!
I was kind of perturbed when this started growing in the same place I'd so carefully planted the Gladiator Alliums.
ALLLL the photos of Alliums are of long strong stalks with puff balls of blue or purple flowers.  Turns out - they have leaves too!!
Why am I always amazed at the things I don't already know?

The leaves have been broad and strong and once the stalk hit the top of the leaves it shot up quickly.  Now the leaves are starting to bend and shrink.

The Alliums should be opening any day now

Waiting is not fun
